Goodbye Lee.

The day dawned wet and cold and with the added disapointment of finding Lee feeling very poorly and the decision to return home being the only sensible one available. Lying on a bedchair whilst the rain hammers down outside is not exactly the perfect recipe for flue and even sitting by the stove in the house was no substitute for home and a warm bed. So Lee , young Joe, Jason and Bill set off early for the long haul home. Hopefully all went well for them and Lee is feeling a lot better by now. At least the 3 adults all had good fish despite the weather and hopefully young Joe will return and enoy great success sometime in the future.

Well, the rain continued all day and into evening with a cold wind adding to the misery………..oh, what has happened to spring this year ??? Today is dry so far but not over warm and as I write the sky is getting darker and rain is once again on its way. Another few days of this weather and then we are promised some sunshine and more springlike temperatures so hopefully by then the carp will have decided enough is enough and a good feed is due !!

Jamie senior seemed to revel in the conditions and proceeded to catch 6 nice fish with a new pb heading the list at 34lb…well done Jaimie, you can lose the tag as ‘blanker’ as of now mate. Along with the 34 he also banked a 26lb, and several other low 20’s as well as a mid double. Great fishing considering the appalling conditions.

Jamie and his new pb at 34lb

This fish is only a low 20 but an absolute stunner.

And Jaimie’s only common at 22.5lb

Well, just one day left and we are determined that Jamie jnr is going to break his pb so watch this space.

Tomorrow we have 4 newbies to le Moulin du Mee plus our regulars of Calamity Tim and Dave so with better weather on the horizon I am hoping for some great fishing reports and pictures to post.

What a shame for poor Lee and the others having to leave early after all that the weather threw at them. But despite the poor conditions they still caught some decent fish.

I hope you make your newbies aware of what to expect when Tim arrives they won’t know whats hit them otherwise. I hope the weather starts to improve from now on,it’s about time the sun put in an appearance.

To true Chris., the boys have experienced just about the worst weeks weather I have seen in the fishing season over here. Just constant cold winds and rain. It is set to improve but until it happens i will just keep my fingers crossed.

Well if the long range forecast is to be believed you are in for decent weather from the middle of next week, holding ones breath would not be advised though.

I can see it being up to Giulia and myself to come to the rescue and drag the sun kicking and screaming over to France. It will be a case of Sods Law that we have a heatwave now that she has to stay out of the sun.
